Shrewley and Rowington visit Rugby Art Gallery and Museum

Last Tuesday, Shrewley and Rowington visited Rugby Art Gallery to take part in a range of activities and explore the exhibitions. The main exhibition was rather unusual, as you can see. It was a large, inflatable and pink structure that filled the whole gallery floor! It was filled with air by a pump which made it look like it was breathing, as the air went into and out of the material.

We also got to work with the Art Gallery staff to create different pieces in our sketchbooks, like collages and mark-making. We experimented with charcoal and graphite pencils to make zig zags, swirls and other patterns.

In the afternoon, we got to see the interactive Rugby Hall of Fame, where we learnt about the history of the sport and how it has changed in each country over time. There were lots of artefacts for us to see that were all part of the sport's history.

Overall, we really enjoyed it and had a great experience of the gallery atmosphere.
